Frequently asked questions
Clear answers to recurring questions. Individual cover always depends on the specific policy and risk.
What does organiser liability insurance cover?
It examines claims, defends unjustified claims and pays justified claims within the agreed scope.
Are participants, marshals and helpers automatically insured against accidents?
No. The insured group, period of cover and benefits must be agreed expressly.
Is “participation at your own risk” sufficient?
No. A waiver is legally sensitive, does not replace reasonable safety measures and must be coordinated with the policy, regulations and registration process.
What limit of indemnity is appropriate?
The limit should reflect serious personal injury and incidents involving several injured persons. A risk analysis is required.
Is the after-race party automatically covered?
No. Catering, music, alcohol, security, visitor numbers and duration must be disclosed.
Are set-up and dismantling activities covered?
Only if the period, tasks, helpers, tents, stages, machinery and contractors are included in the insurance concept.
Is a shuttle or taxi service covered?
Not automatically. Motor liability, licensing, trade-law issues and the specific passenger transport must be reviewed separately.
What documents should be preserved after a loss?
Photos, witness details, staff lists, regulations, waivers, safety documents and official records should be secured immediately.
